But first – breakfast on the balcony with a squirrel visitor.
And time for a coffee with a view.
Today I turned left onto The National Forest Way.
The path this way was quite overgrown in places with brambles and stinging nettles, and when it came to crossing some of the fields, the path was just visible. You also have to walk past a sign saying the way is a private gated road – no access – I ignored that.
However there was a viewing platform – a small view as I am sure the trees have grown since it was installed, but a good spot for a coffee.

I have written articles for both Cyberawake and Octagon today – but outside on the balcony in the good weather.
Of course the writing was helped by coffee – today iced coffee made in a Turkish style with ginger and little dark brown sugar.
And the sunset from the same balcony.
The National Forest Way passes by Wychnor Park Country Club – so before it got too hot this morning I walked out to the River Trent along the path.
Along the way, I found a suitable spot for to brew a coffee, out in the countryside but definitely in the shade – my bush hat can only keep so much sun off me.
This squirrel came for breakfast.
