What a morning!
Taken looking down towards Chop Gate, Bilsdale. A beautiful morning, and while cloudier later it was great leaving this morning. Jusr 19 miles to take us to within 15 miles of the finish. So that’s about 175 miles done.

The walk into Risedale was easier due to the break between the showers. Tomorrow’s forecast is equally grim and no hope for short cuts. Still only 35 miles to go.

The water tower at Ingelby Arncliffe just 3/4 of a mile from the Blue Bell at Ingelby cross. Only rained on once today which was a nice change & it only took 9hrs to get here. Sore and aching feet revived in the shower ready for tomorrow.

Traffic was a shock today, not that we haven’t seen any, rather that the A1 was the 1st really busy road we have seen since the M6 at Shap, and it was very quite unlike the A1 & later the A19. It’s all to easy traveling at 2 1/2 miles an hour to forget the pace of life elsewhere.

Taken this morning as we left the outskirts of Richmond. The rain overnight made progress a little slower but the sunshine made up for it. Walking along the banks of the Swale was wonderful, I always find the sound of running water cheers me, especially when I don’t have to wade through it or jump over it as we did three days ago crossing the moors between Kirkby Stephen & Tan Hill.
