Walking in Lincolnshire
A short walk across the fields today – with Spring finally showing.
I found a convenient style and made some tea.

The Branston Players revived a village. tradition today, by performing a public Plough Play.
about fifty people turned out to see this show
A Plough Play was traditionally performed by agricultural workers, especially across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. They were based on a similar story but with each village having their own version. The one performed here today included a fool, the King of Egypt, a doctor with a dubious bedside manner and a recruiting sergeant among others. The story was told with songs and poetry – and featured at the end a song from the last time the play was put on in Branston in 1967.
The sun even came out for a few minutes during the performance.
Diana and I thought it was good and were pleased we went to see it.

With the unseasonal Easter weather I had to postpone this weekend’s backpacking trip – I am not equipped for such sustained cold weather when backpacking. I did get out for a day walking today – across the fields near where I live, but using some paths I had not used before.
One of the paths ran in the hedgerow.
I found somewhere out of the cold wind for lunch.
Diana and I were out at the Branston Business Network this evening at the Wagon and Horses, this shot was taken up behind the pub.

Martin and I were working in and around Horncastle today, for various clients, fixing some network problems, updating software and repairing a webcam connection. Between jobs we had to meet and the cafe on the Market Square in Horncastle seemed a good place to go.
