Grocery run
This flock of peacocks followed me after I had picked up the freshly baked croissants.
Widemouth Bay…

On the recommendation of one of the staff at Woodford Bridge I went out to a cliff top and beach walk near Crackington Haven – The Strangles and Little Strand. She recommended as she regularly went there and there were few visitors even in the hight of summer – and I can see why the path was pretty steep ending in a rope assisted scramble.
I had the beach to myself.
Lunch was on the way back up and was pretty simple – same stove as yesterday, using Dragon fuel this time, Indian Tea, Flapjack and Father’s Day Jaffa Cakes. With a great view.

I went out early and had my breakfast overlooking Widemouth Bay, before attending the weekly staff meeting via Teams – in the car, in the rain!
After the meeting, the rain stopped, so I walked down to the beach along the South West Coast Path.
Coffee on the way back.
Solid fuel folding stove, with a MSR titanium mug – with two tin foil wind shields – it was really windy!

A short woodland walk today – after yesterday’s coast walk – in Holsworthy Woods just south of Holsworthy
It was just a quick mince pie and tea stop today with a flask. As the weather was damp and dull I headed back to the hotel and a movie – so I did not need the rest of the gear and food I packed with me.

I parked in the same place I did on Saturday and walked north(ish) towards Bude – taking as many opportunities as possible to make images.
The light was particularly good as the weather was overcast – so no hard shadows but it did mean the distance was a bit hazy.
First order is the day was find somewhere for breakfast with a great view. With this is mind I found an out of the way drop in the cliff down to a spot – out of the wind but where the main sound was the crash of the waves.
The plastic box is an up-cycled cake box. Breakfast was home baked wholemeal bread with cheese spread and homemade plum jam. Of course I brewed fresh coffee.
The biscuits (Oreo’s and breakfast biscuits), apple and fried rice is for lunch or snacks. In the box is also milk, curtesy of the hotel, a vegetable stock cube and soy sauce.
