St Austell

We had a short walk around St Austell, this morning, to stock up on some supplies and to go to the bank, before heading out to the coast.

St Austell – Market House

Charlestown

This is a small port town near to St Austell where they used to ship china clay from and it is still a working harbour today. By the time Jeremy and I had finished our lunch it had started to rain – so I had to use the waterproof pouch to protect my iPhone whilst taking the pictures. The rain also shortened our planned walk.

Tresillian

Jeremy and I spent the morning in Truro – mainly in the Royal Cornwall Museum.

On the way back to the campsite we stopped at one of our favourite tea rooms – Tresillian Garden Centre. We have visited it each time we have camped at Veryan just for the Cornish Cream Tea – it cannot be beaten for quality or value. Real Cornish clotted cream and warm fruit scones and jam produced in the village. Cost £3.00 each.

Here is how to find it. It is on the right as you leave the village (before crossing the bridge), on the A390 heading for St Austell.

St Mawes

We parked up in St Mawes today and between the showers, hail and the rainbows had a walk through the village and along the coast and beach.

More hot chocolate for Jeremy, with more whipped cream and a homemade double choc muffin – he needs to keep his strength up.
