It has been a networking day. First at the Business Network Lincoln lunch and then Positive Networking in Peterborough this evening.

This is The 1960s Baron, from last year’s celebration of the Magna Carta, which is now located in the reception of the Lincoln Hotel where we had our lunch time meeting. The lunch they served us, as every was excellent – the meeting was excellent as well!

This evening’s meeting was a new format, that Mike was trying out and it was very good. The photo is of Paul Wilson’s contribution. For those of you that know him, you will recognise his style.

I am going to be giving a presentation next month at the Imps Premier Plus business Club about Ramsomware and other email threats. Today whilst Kamila and I were working on the slides and promotional material for the event, she received this email – a perfect example of what I will be talking about.

This email had got through our online spam/virus filtering systems and poses a significant risk to our business if it was opened. At Octagon we run staff awareness and training sessions on “good email practice” so everyone knows how to deal with unsolicited email threats and help many clients with similar training sessions.
