Tain
Having had tea and scones in Tain and a walk along the shore, we then went for a walk in the nearby forest following the Aldie Burn Trail.
Hector MacDonald Monument and Lunch
Who was Hector MacDonald? He is the Scots solider shown on the label of a bottle of Camp Coffee – and he came from near Dingwall.
this is from the Hector MacDonald exhibit in the Dingwall Museum
For more info see here.
There is a monument to him on a hill above Dingwall – we walked up there today.

The Monument
Jeremy cooked lunch today – from scratch.
Pork with herb gravy and carrots – served with Italian bread, and it was delicious.

Isle of Skye
As we were at Eilean Donan Castle it was only 10 mile to the Isle of Skye. Last time I went to Skye I used a ferry from Kyle of Lochalsh – today of course we drove through there and used the bridge.
Jeremy took the above photo as we crossed the bridge.
