So far today I have been sorting out an issue a client is having with their Office 365 subscription. Microsoft has done away with the plan the client was using and Microsoft have auto-renewed them into a new plan. Sounds OK except the licenses on the PCs are not updating correctly! So now we are fixing the issue.
Even though there are the occasional issues with it, I still think Office 365 is a great product. At Octagon Technology we use it fully, across all the devices we use including iOS, Android and Linux, using all the tools including OneDrive, Skype and our favourite app OneNote. One if the best things about it is that we are not now asked to keep reinstalling Office from a CD, where the licenses have already been used, that is being passed around an office!

Following a morning of client meetings, Connor and I are now troubleshooting a network that we have recently taken over. We are pretty sure it is a cable/switch issue, now we need to find the issue. Time to go up into suspended ceiling.

Octagon Technology has gained a new client this week. That is not news as we regularly have new people coming to us for help. The news is that our new client’s backup is on this portable hard drive, which has failed and they were depending on this backup because their laptop has broken down!
Fortunately we were able to take the laptop apart and have recovered their information directly from the hard drive – so there is a happy ending to this story.
A backup on a single portable device is not a backup. If you want to know what a dependable backup is, then call Kamila on 01522 797520 and over a coffee she will be happy to tell you.
